The set and band are truly amazing. Steve will be performing some
hits that he wrote for other artists and covered on tribute releases
along with highlights form his entire solo career. Also included are
tracks from his new Ever Changing Times release and some "deep track"
Toto gems.

Important bodies of his guitar playing and tasteful solos can be heard on dozens of blistering, innovative and time standing songs like "Hold The Line" (ToTo), "Breakdown Dead Ahead" (Boz Scaggs), "Living In The Limelight" (Peter Cetera), "Hard To Say I'm Sorry/Get Away" (Chicago), "Dirty Laundry" (Don Henley), "Voices" (Cheap Trick), "Beat It" (Michael Jackson), "I Keep Forgettin'" (Michael McDonald), "Arthur's Theme" (Christopher Cross), "Forever Man" (Eric Clapton), "Running With The Night" (Lionel Ritchie), "Stand Back" (Stevie Nicks), "I Love LA" (Randy Newman), "Talk To You Later" and "She's A Beauty" (The Tubes) and again on ToTo's "I Won't Hold You Back" and now "Ever Changing Times" to highlight only a small portion of his accomplished body of work heard by millions.

Lukather also has another amazing talent and that is his widely dynamic voice heard on great songs like "Rosanna," "I'll Be Over You," "Gyspy Train," "The Letting Go" and "Tell Me What You Want From Me" to his background vocals on Van Halen's "Top Of The World" and his credentials as a songwriter on hits songs like "Turn Your Love Around" (George Benson), "She's A Beauty" and "Talk To You Later" (The Tubes).

Now Steve Lukather takes his innovative and orchestrative arrangements, vocal talents and song-writing skills on a "journey of genres" for all music listeners to enjoy and elevate to on his new solo release Steve Lukather "Ever Changing Times".

    David Lindley -
David Lindley, world music, Jackson Browne
    David Lindley

Multi-instrumentalist David Lindley performs music that redefines the word "eclectic." Lindley, well known for his many years as the featured accompanist with Jackson Browne, and leader of his own band El Rayo-X, has long championed the concept of world music.

The David Lindley electro-acoustic performance effortlessly combines American folk, blues, and bluegrass traditions with elements from African, Arabic, Asian, Celtic, Malagasy, and Turkish musical sources. Lindley incorporates an incredible array of stringed instruments including but not limited to Kona and Weissenborn Hawaiian lap steel guitar, Turkish saz and chumbus, Middle Eastern oud, and Irish bouzouki. The eye-poppingly clad "Mr. Dave's" uncanny vocal mimicry and demented sense of humor make his onstage banter a highlight of the show.  Tickets are $12.00.  9pm.

    Johnny A -
    Johnny A, Gibson
    Johnny A

He's not a blues guitarist, although he sometimes bends stinging notes like B.B. King. Nor is he a jazz guitarist, although there are elements of Wes Montgomery and Kenny Burrell in his music, and Johnny A is certainly not a pure rock guitarist a la Eddie Van Halen or Steve Vai. "What dictates what I do," Johnny A says, "is the song that I'm playing."

Johnny A is widely regarded as one of America's finest contemporary guitarists.  Gibson thinks so
    – their Custom Shop designed a Signature Edition guitar per his specific requests which, when it was marketed in 2003, placed him in an exclusive club that included legends like BB King, Wes Montgomery, Chet Atkins, Joe Perry, Pat Martino and Les Paul himself.  Tickets are $12.00.  9pm.

    Friday, October 10th, 2008
    Peter Hammill of
    Van der Graaf Generator
    -

Peter Hammill, Van der Graaf Generator
Peter Hammill of Van der Graaf Generator
Peter Hammill was born in London in 1948. His career began as the singer and songwriter for Van der Graaf Generator, the chaotic, scary and highly influential underground group of the Seventies. The adventurous attitude which they brought to their music remains a feature of Peter's work to this day.

By the time the group folded in 1978 Peter had already recorded seven solo albums, covering numerous lyrical and musical bases in the process. If one did not know otherwise the proto-punk of "Nadir's Big Chance", the full-blown emotion of "Over" and the scatter-gun arrangements of "The Silent Corner" could well have been the work of three entirely different artists.

Peter's work has always been independent and uncompromising and it is perhaps because of this that he has been cited as a major influence by so many other artists. In their respective contexts he is as happy working with pure sonics as he is with fully orchestral songs, with three-chord electric guitar "tricks" as with piano ballads.

In addition to his "normal" output of twenty-six solo recordings of songs he has also written music for ballet, film and television.  He continues to subscribe to the idea that it is more important to apply literacy, intelligence and passion to the making of music than to chase after commercial success.  Tickets are $20.00.  9pm.

    Saturday, October 11th, 2008
    Jennifer Batten -

In the spring of '98 Jeff Beck asked Jennifer to join his band. They joined forces for 3 years on the CD’s "Who Else", and “You Had It Coming” which were both supported by world tours. Other guest appearances include CD's with Carmine Appice, Michael Sembello, Carl Anderson, Carina Alfie and several rock tributes.

Jennifer has authored two music books and has just released her third solo CD/DVD entitled “Whatever”.  With this 3rd effort, she’s ventured into electronica, vocal samples, and film.  She’s supporting this release with a multimedia one woman show, playing guitar in synch with films projected onto a giant screen.  Tickets are $12.00.  9pm.

    Rik Emmett of Triumph -
Rik Emmett, Tiumph, Strung out Troubadours, Dave Dunlop, Canada
    Rik Emmett
Rik is easily recognized as the singer, songwriter and guitarist of the rock trio Triumph, a band which had successful hits such as "Lay It On The Line" and "Magic Power."

He has his fair share of gold and platinum hanging on the wall after surviving three decades in the music biz. Awards like Best Guitarist at the '81 Junos, induction into the Canadian Rock Hall of Fame in '93, and Best Smooth Jazz Guitarist in 2005 highlight an ever- evolving career. There's a true singer/songwriter at the heart of it all - a multi-dimensional artist, with nothing to prove except the dignity and maturity of his continuing commitment to great music.

Rik is performing as The Strung-Out Troubadours, an acoustic duo with Dave Dunlop.  Dave has been a guitar player, writer, singer & educator professionally for the last 15 years. Originally from Ottawa, Toronto has been his homebase since the late 80’s.  They will be performing two shows, one at 7pm, and one at 10 pm.  Tickets are $20.00 for each show.

    Adrian Legg -
    Adrian Legg, fingerstyle guitarist, acoustic
    Adrian Legg
"There are guitarists, there are axe-wielding maniacs, and then there are wizards. Adrian Legg is one of the wizards. He has enough technique to do just about anything he wants, but also the sensitivity to honour the contours of a melody." - Philadelphia Enquirer.

Impossible to categorize as a player, Adrian Legg incorporates virtually every genre on his guitar in a virtuosic instrumental style with effects. He brought electric approaches to acoustic playing, creating a modern cross-over amalgamation in the tradition of eclectic folk playing that goes back to the 1960s."
    - Guitar
    by Richard Chapman, 2000.

Legg plays fingerstyle guitar, mixing an alternating-bass style with harmonics, banjo-peg retuning and single or double-string bending.  Legg has pioneered the use of modelling technology and midi for fingerstyle guitar.  A significant part of Legg's shows is the very funny storytelling he uses between songs.  He was voted "Guitarist of the Decade" by Guitarist Magazine.  Tickets are $10.00.  9pm.
