Glen Phillips
of Toad The Wet Sprocket -

Glen Phillips, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Singer, Songwriter
Glen Phillips

Glen Phillips started his first band, Toad The Wet Sprocket, in Santa Barbara at age 15. He served as the frontman and main songwriter in the band. It was Toad's third album - the jangling, orchestral Fear - that truly broke the group, garnering heavy radio play with the singles "All I Want" and "Walk on the Ocean."

After three years away from the recording studio, Toad returned to the mainstream with Dulcinea, which again found one of its singles, "Fall Down," in heavy radio rotation. After six albums and a substantial string of hits, the group disbanded in 1998.

Phillips began touring as a solo act after Toad the Wet Sprocket's demise, and has since released 5 solo records and two EPs.

He has also collaborated on other projects: (Mutual Admiration Society and Works Progress Administration (WPA) w/ Sean
Watkins of Nickel Creek and Luke Bulla from Lyle Lovett’s Large Band), released an EP with Plover (with Neilson Hubbard and Garrison Starr) and an album as RemoteTreeChildren (with Portland's John Askew).

In 2006, Glen toured North America with a reunited Toad the Wet Sprocket. Toad has toured off and on since that time,
and in 2011 played 70 shows and decided to begin writing for a new album, to be released late in 2012.  www.glenphillips.com

This show will feature Glen Phillips performing in a solo acoustic format. Electroacoustic folk singer / songwriter
Robert Lloyd Peeples opens the show.

Tickets are $20.00. Showtime is 9pm.

Sonny Moorman Group -

Sonny Moorman, Band, blues, music
Sonny Moorman Group

"Sonny Moorman's award-winning blues is something you need to hear."
- Bill Ector, Hittin The Note Magazine.

Whether blues guitarist Sonny Moorman is deftly fingerpicking his Zeiler acoustic guitar, or playing sinewy slide on his Oahu lap guitar and Dobro resophonic guitar, he presents classic blues, played and sung the way it was supposed to be, the real deal!

In 1982, Sonny Moorman played with Warren Zevon's touring band, Z Deluxe. In 1994, Moorman and his band played the Memphis Cross-Cultural Music Exposition and got a recording deal with Sun Studio's 706 Records imprint.

At that point Moorman started what became a four-year tour with Easyriders Magazine playing their events. Sonny recorded his next releases on the Atlas Records label.

In addition to the critical acclaim from these releases, Sonny placed 2nd in the 2007 International Blues Challenge, he was named 2008 Solo / Duo "Blues Artist on the Rise" by Blues Festival Guide Magazine, and he and his band were finalists in the 2010 International Blues Challenge. www.sonnymoorman.com

Marcangelo Perricelli Band -

Marcangelo Perricelli, Prog, Progressive Rock, New Age
Marcangelo Perricelli

"What's initially impressive about this band is the singing of keyboardist Marcangelo Perricelli. He has a reedy tenor that falls somewhere between Peter Gabriel and Saga's Michael Sadler. His dicton and phrasing are clear, and he really knows how to ring emotion from a lyric."
- Progression Magazine.

Award-winning progressive rock and new age keyboardist / composer and recording artist, Marcangelo Perricelli continues to expand and solidify his visibility with a performance at The Winchester Music Hall.

Marcangelo will be joined on stage with his current band featuring Rick Catanese on Bass, James Piper on Guitars and Keith Welch on Drums.

Classically trained at the Bradley Institute on the violin and an intense “no-boundaries, no-limitations” approach to composition and keyboard performance, Marcangelo has become be quite the “well-rounded” musician. Compound all of that with his love for songwriting and orchestral composition, Marcangelo is truly a professional.

Having topped international charts with Platinum and Gold record awards in the early 1980's for writing with the internationally famous "Kool and The Gang," Marcangelo Perricelli decided to focus on becoming more of a serious musical entity.

Working twelve years in the record business working for the TimeWarner Record group (Warner Bros / Elektra / Atlantic Records) Marcangelo Perricelli helped to break such acts as Guns & Roses, Paul Simon, Whitesnake, Peter Gabriel, Genesis, Yes, Dream Theatre, George Harrison, Tori Amos, Tom Petty, Cher, Enya, Julian Lennon, Aerosmith...just to name a few.

In the Fall of 2007, Marcangelo submitted music and orchestral scores to Jon Anderson from YES and since that time Jon and Marcangelo have become great friends and send music back and forth for critique and recording. Jon plans to release this music, as well as the music he has worked on with other composers in the near future. www.marcangeloperricelli.com

Stephen Kellogg
and The Sixers -

Stephen Kellogg, The Sixers, Band, Music
Stephen Kellogg and The Sixers

On Gift Horse, their second album for Vanguard and fifth studio effort overall, Stephen Kellogg and The Sixers bring the rich legacy of American rock & roll into the present tense. This is thrilling music, muscular, immediate and life-embracing, steeped in tradition but addressing the present moment boldly and eloquently.

The band features Stephen Kellogg at the helm and  Kit “Goose” Karlson on keys, bass, vocals, Brian “Boots” Factor on drums, vocals, and Sam “Steamer” Getz on guitars, vocals.

By and large, the songs of Gift Horse are real-life narratives, most of them directly relating to personal experiences. “1993,” recounts Kellogg’s relationship with the childhood sweetheart who became his wife; the highway anthem “Who We Are, Who We’ll Become” is based on a piece of grandfatherly wisdom; “Watch You Grow” poignantly expresses a father’s love; “Song for Lovers” considers mortality in the context of a lifelong relationship; and “We Belong Here” is the album’s string-laden thematic centerpiece.

Gift Horse stands as an unambiguous statement of belonging and persevering during these times - the record is as straightforward, and as resonant, as that.

There’s nothing hidden or tentative about Kellogg’s music or the values he stands for. If you’ve been itching to crank up some bracing, timeless rock & roll that speaks to these values loudly and proudly, then Gift Horse is exactly what you’ve been waiting for. www.sk6ers.com

Chris Koza opens the show.

Peter Karp & Sue Foley -

These two accomplished and well respected artists share The Winchester Music Hall stage with their band for night of Americana, folk, roots, blues music and great stories.

Peter Karp is a gifted American troubadour, a master songsmith with an art for spinning true-to-life emotions, humor, and candor. With an upbringing that was equal parts southern Alabama and the swamps of New Jersey, Karp's music is fueled by the Yankee-Rebel juxtaposition.

On the road across the U.S. and Canada, Peter Karp repeatedly transfixes his live audiences. Critics compare his songwriting to John Hiatt and John Prine with impressive guitar and slide licks infused by his love of Freddie King and Elmore James. Peter Karp personifies the amorphous Americana sound, seamlessly blending blues, folk and roots music with a high sense of entertainment.

Notable Canadian songwriter, producer and prolific recording artist Sue Foley is considered to be one of the finest blues / roots artists working today. Throughout the 90's she took to the road with her paisley Telecaster and honed her craft working/sharing the stage with such artists as B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Lucinda Williams, Tom Petty and more.

Since 1999, Sue Foley has received a record-setting 18 Maple Blues Awards, and three Trophée de blues in France.  In 2000, she won the Juno Award for Best Blues Album. Sue also received a nomination for the prestigious Blues Music Award for best contemporary female artist in 2002. www.karpfoley.com

Phil Keaggy -
Phil Keaggy, Guitar, Songwriter, Glass Harp
Phil Keaggy

Phil Keaggy is perhaps one of the most admired guitarists in music  today.

Phil Keaggy's fans range from those who aspire just
to be able to play his mistakes, to professional musicians who have been strongly influenced by his style.  And in-between are those who don't play guitar, yet find solace in his beautifully penned lyrics and memorable melodies.

One of the most sought after studio guitarists, Phil also continues to sell out concerts all over the United States, with his ever changing style, ranging from rock-and-roll to fully orchestrated instrumental compositions.

It wasn't until 1970, when Phil's band Glass Harp (with childhood friend John Sferra on drums, and Dan Pecchio on
bass) recorded their self-titled first album that people really began to take notice of this incredibly gifted guitar player.

By 1972, Phil saw his life going in a different direction, and made the tough decision to leave Glass Harp and pursue a solo career.  His first solo album,  "What A Day," was recorded in just a week's time during January 1973.

These days, Phil Keaggy continues to delight audiences all over the US performing primarily acoustic shows.  He is aware that God gave him a calling to deliver the Gospel through his music, and for over 30 years, Phil Keaggy has been grateful to do just that, and will hopefully continue to do so for many years to come.  www.philkeaggy.com

Shawn Mullins -

Shawn Mullins
Shawn Mullins

Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Shawn Mullins is currently touring behind his eleventh studio release, Light You Up. Produced by Mullins and drummer Gerry Hansen, Light You Up marks a newfound level of musical and lyrical expression for the veteran artist.

Shawn Mullins has undergone a series of transformative experiences leading to this captivating new song cycle. His experiences included delving into the collaborative creative process by intensive co-writing, and in one instance putting him atop of the country charts via a key contribution to the Zac Brown Band’s “Toes,” marking his fourth #1 single (and first purely as a co-writer), following 1999’s “Lullaby” and the 2006 Americana chart-topper “Beautiful Wreck.”

Further co-writing yielded nine of the 11 songs on Light You Up, which Shawn Mullins believes represents the strongest, most expressive writing of his distinguished career. www.shawnmullins.com

Bryan Lee "Braille Blues Daddy"
and the Blues Power Band -

Bryan Lee, Braille Blues Daddy, Blues, Music, New Orleans
Bryan Lee "Braille Blues Daddy"

"one of the best bluesmen I have ever heard."
- Eric Clapton.

"All I can say is that Lee is as powerful as a blues musician you are likely to hear this year or any other year."
- Blogcritics.

"I went home and cried." That was blues legend Bryan Lee's reaction upon being told by Muddy Waters, "Bryan, stay with this. One day you're going to be a living legend." Now, more than a quarter-century later, Bryan Lee is one of the most recognizable blues players to call New Orleans home.

For Lee, the blues has been a fickle lover. Born with a skin color not common amongst bluesmen and living without eyesight since the age of eight, the music that he loved didn't always have a place for him.

"I'm a blind person, I don't see any color. I got drawn to this music by the feeling, not by the color of somebody's skin," said Lee.

With the respect of peers like Buddy Guy (who will appear on Lee's next album) and last year's nomination for a Blues Award (for Katrina Was Her Name), Lee is not content to rest on his laurels. Instead of seeing his visual impairment as a handicap, Lee feels it has helped him as a player of the blues.

"I can focus deeper. I don't have any physical distractions. That's the grace of God. Yes, I don't have eyesight, but the good Lord gave me the gift of music and I run into a lot of people that are emotionally blind. Eyesight or insight, its kind of an easy choice to make." www.braillebluesdaddy.com

Bryan Lee will be joined onstage by the Blues Power Band featuring guitarist Brent Johnson, bassist David Hyde, and drummer John Perkins.

Tickets are $15.00. Showtime is 9pm.

Marbin -

Marbin, jazz, music, band
Marbin

“[Marbin members] Markovitch and Rabin continue to blaze their own trail by creating a powerful merger of jazz, rock, ambient and world musical styles into a sound distinctly their own.”
- Chicago Jazz Net.

“An influence of Dave Gilmour and Al DiMeola can be heard within the guitar which are tough acts to duplicate in any kind of a way. On Saxophone the sounds of Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, and John Coltrane can be heard within the wonderful melodic runs. Together these two fantastic musicians make up the sweet group called Marbin.”
- Chicago Live Music Examiner.

The jazz / rock band Marbin first started in 2007 as an improvised music duo consisting of Israeli-American, Berklee College of Music graduate, guitarist Dani Rabin and Israeli saxophonist Danny Markovitch.

Since 2008, Marbin has been living in Chicago and performing all over the United States, playing over 250 shows a year with the accompaniment of drummer Justyn Lawrence and bassist Ian Stewart.

They have released three albums: "Impressions of a City," as part of Paul Wertico’s Mideast-Midwest Alliance, and two under the name Marbin, "Marbin" as a duo, and "Breaking the Cycle" with drummer Paul Wertico (Pat Metheny Group), bassist Steve Rodby (Pat Metheny Group), and Jamey Haddad (Paul Simon). www.marbinmusic.com

Joanne Shaw Taylor
and Band -

Joanne Shaw Taylor, blues, guitar
Joanne Shaw Taylor

"I heard something I thought I would never hear, a British White Girl playing blues guitar so deep and passionately it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end!"
- Dave Stewart of The Eurythmics.

"She plays with more attitude and flare than most. Massive potential here. Inspiring."
- Guitarist Magazine.

British singer and blues guitarist Joanne Shaw Taylor was 16 years old when she was discovered by Dave Stewart of The Eurythmics. Stewart was so impressed with Taylor's guitar playing that he invited the youngster to join his supergroup, D.U.P. (Da Univerzal Playaz) on a European tour in 2002.

Playing the hard stuff à la SRV, making you feel the bite of her Telecaster like Albert Collins or working out charming little riffs from the Jimi Hendrix book, Joanne is always seeking (and finding) new terrain. Vocally, she has a strong, husky style, sort of understated, and somewhat reminiscent of Joss Stone with its soulfulness at times.

It's safe to say that Joanne is well on the way to succeeding.  Joanne's album "White Sugar" was nominated for Best New Artist Debut album at the 2010 Blues Music Awards. Joanne will be performing on guitar and vocals with her band, a power trio. www.joanneshawtaylor.com

Grammy nominated MPress recording artist Seth Glier will grab you, if not with his powerful falsetto or his melodic prowess, then with what Performer Magazine calls his "intoxicating groove."

The 22 year-old singer, pianist and guitarist aims straight for the gut & has quickly established himself on the national scene. In 2010, Glier shared stages with such diverse artists as James Taylor, Mark Knopfler, The Verve Pipe, and Edwin McCain.
